Jimmy Minner, PT, DPT

Jimmy Minner received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2004 from the University of New Mexico. He also earned a Master of Physical Therapy in 2009 and transitioned to the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2010 with the inaugural doctorate class at the University of New Mexico. He has worked as a physical therapist at Langford Sports and Physical Therapy since 2009 but took a one-year hiatus to complete a nationally credentialed Sports Residency Program with Proaxis Therapy in Greenville, SC from 2011-2012. 

Jimmy became the first UNM PT graduate to complete a sports residency program and upon completion he earned his national Sports Clinical Specialist certification in 2012 through the American Physical Therapy Association. 

Jimmy has a passion for treating all Orthopedic conditions, but a strong interest in Sports Rehabilitation and return to sport decision making. He has spoken at the National Physical Therapy Combined Sections meeting regarding sports rehabilitation and at the State Athletic Training Meeting regarding the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to treatment of student/athletes. 

Jimmy has also volunteered time to perform injury prevention screenings and give injury prevention talks to local athletic organizations/groups.

Jimmy has been teaching with the University of New Mexico Physical Therapy Program since 2007/2008 when he spent time as a teaching assistant in the Gross Anatomy Lab. Jimmy also started as a guest lecturer since 2013 for the University of New Mexico Physical Therapy Program and transitioned to a part time teaching assistant for Musculoskeletal Concepts class during the 1st year of the PT curriculum at UNM.
