Dr. David Chafey obtained his medical degree from Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. He completed his orthopaedic residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He then went on to complete a fellowship in orthopaedic trauma at Sonoran Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeons in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr. Chafey recently completed a second fellowship in musculoskeletal oncology at the University of Texas - MD Anderson Cancer Center. His clinical interests include limb salvage, pelvic reconstruction, and metastatic disease to the bone.
