Sandia Orthopaedic Alumni Society

Giving Back to the Program that Trained You!

With more than 240 graduates from our orthopaedic residency and fellowship programs it is our distinct privilege to highlight our alumni and their successes and to keep you informed about our alumni society and recent news. It is the goal of the Sandia Orthopaedic Alumni Society to provide the resources necessary for our UNM Orthopaedic Alumni to stay in contact with former resident and fellow classmates, faculty, and friends long after they have completed their orthopaedic training at UNM. Please enjoy our alumni society newsletters or find out what your former classmates are up to these days with our featured alumni pages and visit the alumni map and locate former residents and fellows around the world. If you have something you would like to have highlighted or need to update your contact information please email Ryan Wood.

Joel Lubin Visiting Professorship

Joel Lubin

The University of New Mexico Department of Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation and Sandia Orthopaedic Alumni Society established the Joel Lubin Visiting Professorship in 2013 through the UNM Foundation. The professorship honors the memory of Dr. Joel Lubin, UNM Orthopaedic Class of 2001, who was considered by his colleagues to be an outstanding surgeon, friend, and father.

Annually, the professorship enables us to spotlight a renowned orthopaedic specialist at Grand Rounds and at a special educational event for our current orthopaedic residents which enhances their UNM experience. To sustain this valuable professorship, our annual fundraising goal of $5,000 depends on generous support from alumni and friends. To make a contribution, please email Development Coordinator Ryan Wood or call 505-272-8745. You can also contribute online.
