Accreditation Update - UNM PT Program receives an unconditional 10 year accreditation!

We had our on-site visit from CAPTE back in March 2015. What you may not know is that the on-site visit was only part of the process.

The on-site team submits their report to the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), who makes the final decision.

I say this because in the past, programs have received positive reports from the on-site teams and still were given robust progress reports from CAPTE, full of deficiencies to address. Therefore, we were fully expecting to have some form of a progress report with our notice of accreditation.

I am happy to announce that we received our official notice of accreditation from CAPTE, and it was unconditional. In other words, in the eyes of CAPTE, we are fulfilling all of the criteria for accreditation.

We at the PT Program would like to thank all who participated in this process. Having a successful PT Program (literally) takes a village, and the accreditation process is no exception. We couldn’t have done it without you. We wouldn’t have a Program without you.

Again, thank you very much!
