Hip Specialists

Hip surgery seeks to increase mobility and overall function of the hip joint as well as to decrease pain. Hip replacement surgery is an invasive surgical procedure in which the affected parts of the hip joint are removed and replaced with new, artificial parts (prosthetics).

If you are experiencing prolonged or severe pain or dysfunction in your hip joint, see your physician. They may refer you to an orthopaedic specialist for further evaluation and treatment. For hip specifics, visit the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) website's Hip & Thigh section.
